Christmas time means more time for reading… right?
Our blog featured a similar list for last year’s Christmas where I listed down some books I wanted to read over the holidays. Spoiler alert: out of the six I listed, I was able to read three!
This year, I’ll be doing the same thing in hopes of getting more reading done and, you know, lowkey apply pressure on myself to finally read the books I’ve been putting off all damn year long.
Currently Reading
What Editors Do: The Art, Craft, and Business of Book Editing by Peter Ginna
I’ve had this on my TBR since the summer because Peter Ginna was one of the amazing lecturers at the Columbia Publishing Course*.
I was so enthralled by his advice that I bought a copy of his book the moment I returned home. Alas, it was left untouched until recently. I’m crossing my fingers that I get to finish this beast of a book before the year ends.

The Guinevere Deception (Camelot Rising #1) by Kiersten White
What originally drew me to this book was the gorgeous cover! Inspired by Arthurian legend, Kiersten White returns with her own retelling.
I’ve heard mixed reviews for this book, but I’m feeling optimistic that this will blow my mind.

Dear Girls: Intimate Tales, Untold Secrets, & Advice for Living Your Best Life by Ali Wong
I ate up Ali Wong’s Netflix stand up comedy specials and Always Be My Maybe. I was blissfully unaware of her existence until recently and I was swept off my feet by her funny jokes and warm personality.
As someone who’s trying to expand her reading genres, I figured reading a nonfiction book by my favorite comic might make the journey easier.

Would Like to Meet by Rachel Winters
A book where the two main characters must reenact meet-cutes from iconic movies? It sounds like the perfect non-Christmas Christmas read for me!
Rom-coms are my favorite movie genre so I’m looking forward to having my heart explode from all the feelings.

ARCs to Read
Ashlords by Scott Reintgen
Thanks to Penguin Random House and Scott Reintgen’s publicist for sending me an advanced copy of his latest work, Ashlords!
The first in a new YA duology, Red Rising meets The Scorpio Races when three riders need to battle for glory.
Layoverland by Gabby Noone
Penguin Random House is really the gift that keeps on giving.
Gifted with an ARC of Layoverland, it’s giving me serious The Good Place vibes and the cover is just to die for.
The Gravity of Us by Phil Stamper
Another ARC copy I’ve received back in the summer, it’s about time I pick up The Gravity of Us.
It features NASA and two teenagers who fall in love under the spotlight of history in the making.
