We’re all about goals and this year, I’m determined to read these books before the year ends!
Recursion by Blake Crouch
I’ve read Dark Matter by Blake Crouch and I was blown away by his story. I’m looking forward to reading Recursion as I’ve read nothing but good reviews about it!
Patron Saints of Nothing by Randy Ribay
Written by a Filipino-American about the ongoing drug war in my home country, it’s a no-brainer that I need to pick this one up.

What Editors Do by Peter Ginna
Peter Ginna was a guest speaker and resource faculty at the Columbia Publishing Course and I’m really interested in what he has to say in his book.

Obsidio by Ami Kaufman and Jay Kristoff
I’ve had a hard copy of this book for ages but I’m really intimidated by the sheer size of the book. I’m committing myself to either reading the physical or listening to the audiobook.
Opposite of Always by Justin A. Reynolds
The premise of the story sounds really similar to The Love That Split the World, a book I dearly love, so I think this title would be a good read for me.

The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater
Another title I have a copy of. Its pages are already turning yellow due to my neglect. I’ll pick you up, soon.

This is How You Lose the Time War by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone
A personal recommendation from one of the speakers at the Columbia Publishing Course, I’m looking forward to reading about inter-dimensional correspondence.

A River of Royal Blood by Amanda Joy
Debut author Amanda Joy is getting me excited for her novel A River of Royal Blood inspired by North African stories!

The Queen of Nothing by Holly Black
Of course, we all heard about this book being published early and no one is complaining. I’m practically vibrating from anticipation about reading the conclusion to Jude and Cardan’s story.

The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan
As a late reader, I never got to experience reading Percy Jackson while I was a pre-teen. I always felt like I was too old to read this series but this year I’m going to give it a go and see if the movies are truly a bad representation of the book (I know that it is, I just want to see how badly the film butchered the book.)

What are your remaining reading goals for the year?

Great list!! Many of them I want to read at some point as well. The Raven Boys is amazing, I personally adored the series, so I hope you enjoy it too! 😊💛✨
