As 2017 is coming to a close, we’d like to dedicate a special post for our best reads of 2017! Hopefully you guys will be able to relate to them because 2017 was a great year for new releases.

Best reads of Kyra:

I Finally read Winter this year, and my only regret is that I didn’t read it sooner!! It was definitely the perfect fairytale ending ❤

I also FINALLY read The Midnight Star, and I also regret not reading this sooner!! There’s something with Marie Lu and final books that always makes me feel satisfied and cry at the same time.

ANOTHER MARIE LU BOOK!!!! This book was so much fun, and I’ve never read anything like it. I will definitely reread this book soon.

Not gonna forget The Well of Ascension because this was hella epic!!! There’s something about me and last books because I keep putting off the last book in this trilogy solely because I don’t want it to end 😦

I loooove this book since we see the ups and downs of Lara and Peter’s relationship. This was the perfect ending to my favorite contemporary series. ❤

Best reads of Nikki:

I’m pretty sure Warcross is on everyone’s list because Marie Lu never fails to deliver an amazing story! Set in a futuristic world where the digital universe is more prominent than the physical universe, an adventure like we’ve never expected takes us on a rollercoaster ride of emotions.

Triplets fighting for one throne? It’s like The Hunger Games mixed with X-Men. How can you not enjoy it?!?! I’d like to thank the publisher for sending us an ARC!

The finale of V.E. Schwab’s Shades of Magic series sweeps us off our feet with an ending that makes us yearn for more. I remember wanting to cry because I didn’t want the series to end. Anoshe.

Snow White takes an unexpected turn in this LGBT retelling that focuses a lot on an endearing mother-daughter relationship. I highly recommend this book if you haven’t read it yet. It was a read that unexpectedly became one of my favorites! Special shoutout to Macmillan for providing me an ARC!

You think that you’d know what would happen on this adventurous story? Think again. Mackenzi Lee will take you to great heights in this amazing medieval narrative that took the book community by storm.

If you’ve been following this blog, you would know that I love monarchial fantasies. Dividing Eden is everything I have ever wanted in a young adult novel. If you love sibling feuds and a fight for the throne, you’ll love this book as much as I did.

A hate-to-love relationship with a lot of great banter is a great way to assure yourself a spot in my favorites list. Sally Thorne’s debut novel is already so good!

You know what, I don’t need to say anything because y’all know how much I love this series.

Shakespeare + video games + teen romance = a cute read that’ll make anyone gush!!!

I was never really a fan of DC Comics until Leigh Bardugo converted me. DC Icons explores alternate origin stories that will us question why we–or at least, some of us–disliked DC Comics at first.

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Is it superman? No. It’s just one of the most hilarious books I’ve ever read.

If this book were a list of her groceries it would still be my favorite. Leigh Bardugo continues to leave me speechless with her writing skills that make me want to cry because she is the Queen Of YA.

That cover coupled with Carmack’s world building is infallible. I had no power to resist. I ate this book up. I was powerless. I am her loyal follower.

Futuristic Gossip Girl meets a lot of death and possible incest???????? Sign me tf up?????????

We hope you guys had amazing reads for 2017 like we did! We are so excited to see what 2018 has in store for us!

  4. I haven’t read any of these books but I plan on reading “Winter,” I’m still up to book 3 of the series. I hope I’ll like ‘winter’ because ‘scarlet’ was a big disappointment for me and ‘Cress’ is just okay for now.

    have a lovely day.

  5. So many amazing books on your lists. And I wouldn’t think of putting off The Hero of Ages because it is the last of the Mistborn trilogy. I mean, there is a continuation trilogy that takes place in the same world but a century or so later.

  6. Marie Lu has yet to disappoint me. Happy to see you have two of her books on your list. So many good books on your list! ODT and The Hating Game were faves of mine as well, and Foolish Hearts made my Best list. I just loved it to shreds.
