Time to get to know the people behind Book Allure! Learn their bookish pet peeves and relive the horrors.
1. Breaking book spines
Okay I admit I used to do this…. but now I protect my babies at all costs!! Break that book spine and I will break YOUR spine 😡
2. Mismatching covers
WHY?!?!?! WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT!?!? LOOK HOW PRETTY IT WAS AND THEN YOU HAD TO RUIN IT!!!!!!!
3. Irregular book sizes for a series
You have not experienced true pain until you realize your series are in different book sizes.
4. Dog-earring pages
There are people who put sticky flags on their books and then there are these monsters. No. Just. NO.
5. Movie covers for books
Death itself would seem like a better option. But really, why ruin a perfectly already nice book cover with a movie poster? We all know the book came before the movie anyway!
6. Sold out copies everywhere or when bookstores don’t have the book on its release day.
As someone who lives in the Philippines, I’ve suffered these pet peeves more than I can count. I would even go as far as pre-ordering the book numerous times from different bookstores just to make sure I had a copy on its release day YET I STILL END UP EMPTY HANDED???????
7. And last but not the least, when the protagonist is irrational and makes stupid decisions.
It doesn’t stop us from reading the book, but we all know that we wanna slap that main character a few times for being so irrational.

Do you agree with the pet peeves? If you have more, comment them below cos we might feel the same way!!
Nice Post! I totally agree with everything on your list! I also hate spoilers and being interrupted while reading a book especially the ending parts. 😀

TRUE!! What’s worse is when the spoiler completely ruins your motivation to continue reading 😦

I work in a bookshop and the customers are CONSTANTLY bending the front cover all the way back. It’s extremely upsetting to have to watch every day 😥
