We’ve been inactive here but we’ve been actively reading! What better way to start posting again than with a post about anticipated releases for 2017? Let’s do it.
1. King’s Cage (Red Queen #3) by Victoria Aveyard
Expected: February 7, 2017
In this breathless third installment to Victoria Aveyard’s bestselling Red Queen series, allegiances are tested on every side. And when the Lightning Girl’s spark is gone, who will light the way for the rebellion?
Mare Barrow is a prisoner, powerless without her lightning, tormented by her lethal mistakes. She lives at the mercy of a boy she once loved, a boy made of lies and betrayal. Now a king, Maven Calore continues weaving his dead mother’s web in an attempt to maintain control over his country—and his prisoner.
As Mare bears the weight of Silent Stone in the palace, her once-ragtag band of newbloods and Reds continue organizing, training, and expanding. They prepare for war, no longer able to linger in the shadows. And Cal, the exiled prince with his own claim on Mare’s heart, will stop at nothing to bring her back.
When blood turns on blood, and ability on ability, there may be no one left to put out the fire—leaving Norta as Mare knows it to burn all the way down.
We all know how Glass Sword left us with its ending and this book sounds nothing short of promising! With its release date so close, I’m sure lots have pre-ordered it already. Have you?
2. A Court of Wings and Ruin (A Court of Thorns and Roses #3) by Sarah J. Maas
Expected: May 2, 2017
Looming war threatens all Feyre holds dear in the third volume of the #1 New York Times bestselling A Court of Thorns and Roses series.
Feyre has returned to the Spring Court, determined to gather information on Tamlin’s maneuverings and the invading king threatening to bring Prythian to its knees. But to do so she must play a deadly game of deceit-and one slip may spell doom not only for Feyre, but for her world as well.
As war bears down upon them all, Feyre must decide who to trust amongst the dazzling and lethal High Lords-and hunt for allies in unexpected places.
In this thrilling third book in the #1 New York Times bestselling series from Sarah J. Maas, the earth will be painted red as mighty armies grapple for power over the one thing that could destroy them all.
We loooooooooove that twist of fate from ACOTAR to ACOMAF. What would ACOWAR bring (let me guess…. war? That was pretty clever of Maas)
3. The Crown’s Fate (The Crown’s Game #3) by Evelyn Skye
Expected: May 16, 2017
Perfect for fans of Shadow and Bone and Red Queen, The Crown’s Fate is the thrilling sequel to the New York Times bestselling The Crown’s Game, an atmospheric historical fantasy set in Imperial Russia.
Russia is on the brink of great change. Pasha’s coronation approaches, and Vika is now the Imperial Enchanter, but the role she once coveted may be more difficult—and dangerous—than she ever expected.
Pasha is grappling with his own problems—his legitimacy is in doubt, the girl he loves loathes him, and he believes his best friend is dead. When a challenger to the throne emerges—and with the magic in Russia growing rapidly—Pasha must do whatever it takes to keep his position and protect his kingdom.
For Nikolai, the ending of the Crown’s Game stung deeply. Although he just managed to escape death, Nikolai remains alone, a shadow hidden in a not-quite-real world of his own creation. But when he’s given a second chance at life—tied to a dark price—Nikolai must decide just how far he’s willing to go to return to the world.
With revolution on the rise, dangerous new magic rearing up, and a tsardom up for the taking, Vika, Nikolai, and Pasha must fight—or face the destruction of not only their world but also themselves.
The Crown’s Game was a perfect mix of romance and rivals. The unsolved tension in the first book is sizzling in the second book and we’re counting down the days until we can get our hands on this!
4. Untitled (Spirit and Thieves #3) by Morgan Rhodes
Expected: June 2017
No description available
This companion to the Falling Kingdom series is just as exciting! With this plot centering around the goddesses that Falling Kingdoms is all about, Spirit and Thieves will make you appreciate it even more.
5. One Dark Throne (Three Dark Crowns #2) by Kendar Blake
Expected: September 19, 2017
No description available
Three Dark Crowns was not really action packed because of all the world building and establishing of characters. The excitement kicked in the latter half of the book and its ending promised more of that in the second book. No description or and no cover? No problem! I’m ready to be surprised. Are you?
6. Immortal Reign (Falling Kingdoms #6) by Morgan Rhodes
Expected: December 2017
No description available
And of course, save the best for last! The expected series finale is what everyone is really looking forward to. After 5 books of changing allegiances and doing whatever it takes to stay alive, it’s time for our main characters Magnus, Cleo, Jonas, and Lucia to meet their fates. It doesn’t help that the title makes us more anxious than the ending of Crystal Storm!
What books are you looking forward to in 2017? Let us know!
