Reading List for Rainy Days

Reading List for Rainy Days

Due to the Philippines’ storm-infested weather forecasts lately, we’ve decided to make a reading list that seems fit for the gloomy cuddle weather. Time to cuddle… with books. ūüėČ

Put down all your contemporary/romance novels!!! We’ll be diving into the fantasy/thriller world of literature.

1. The Mara Dyer trilogy by Michelle Hodkin

It’s cold, it’s dark, and you’re cuddled up in bed. The only thing that can make this scenario any more perfect would be a really good book to go with the setting. The Mara Dyer trilogy is a psychological thriller that will make your heart beat faster and excite you to no end! I recently started this trilogy and I am so hooked to it. I will be going on a hedge here and recommend it since I have gotten so many positive comments about these books. The only advice you’ll need? Don’t read it at night.

2. The Young Elites series by Marie Lu

This series shows the development of the villain. The rainy weather is perfect for this dark fantasy and Adelina’s dark thoughts and manifesting powers! Oo0ooOOo0h illusions

3. Gilded Ashes by Rosamund Hodge

This Cruel Beauty novella is a retelling of Cinderella that takes a tragic¬†turn. Perfect amount of dark fantasy and romance to make it seem fit for rainy days! It’s short, too! If you’re looking for a book to finish within an hour or two, this is it.

4. The Turn of the Screw by Henry James

This is a short story–around 170 pages long–and it’s pretty scary if you ask me. Children or ghosts? You’ll never know.

5. An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir

Dive into this dark, dark world to forget about the pouring rain! Rawr

6. The Grisha Trilogy by Leigh Bardugo

Cuddle with the hottest villain known in the book world! The Grisha will keep your eyes glued to the book no matter what time it is, thanks to the Darkling. ūüėČ

7. Falling Kingdoms Series by Morgan Rhodes

It’s like Game of Thrones except for fighting for the throne, they’re fighting for control over the elements as well. Yes, you read that right. This is the most epic set of YA books I have ever read. It’s a perfect fantasy series to read while in bed. If you’ve got time on your hands, be sure to give this series a go!

8. Legend Trilogy by Marie Lu

These books are really¬†addicting. You won’t even notice how quickly time flies as you read them!

Stay dry friends. Who needs to go out and brave the rain when you can stay in and read?!
