Most Anticipated Releases in 2016

Happy New Year, bookarees! This post is where we share our excitement for books to be released in this amazing year ahead. What better way to look forward to the new year than to new releases?!

1. Lady Midnight (The Dark Artifices #1) by Cassandra Clare

A Shadowhunter falling in love with her parabatai?? Count me in!! I’ve always loved Cassandra Clare’s books and I’m 99.9% sure that this book will not disappoint. This is probably my most anticipated release of the year.

2. The Rose and the Dagger (The Wrath and the Dawn #2) by Renee Ahdieh
Expected publication:  May 3, 2016

The Wrath and the Dawn was one of my favorite reads of and I am SO PUMPED for this explosive finale. MY SHIP MUST SAIL!!!!

3. The Crown’s Game (The Crown’s Game #1) by Evelyn Skye

Tsarist Russia. Magic. Romance. That’s pretty mush all you need to know to entice you to read this book. This is my most anticipated debut novel of 2016. I am so excited!! The book sounds amazing!!!

4. A Torch Against the Night (An Ember in the Ashes #2) by Sabaa Tahir
Expected Publication: August 30, 2016

An Ember in the Ashes was so intense, and I’m really worried about whether my ship will sail in book 2 because the synopsis is confusing me!! Nonetheless, I’m super excited to continue on with Laia and Elias’s story.

5. Crooked Kingdom (Six of Crows #2) by Leigh Bardugo
Expected Publication: September 22, 2015

I loved the first book so much and Leigh Bardugo played with my emotions in the best possible way. Once again, MY SHIP MUST SAIL!!!

6. Heartless by Marissa Meyer

Marissa Meyer is the Queen of Retellings and I’m sooo excited for the creative spin on the story of the Queen of Hearts! Can this book please come faster.

Some of these books don’t even have covers and titles yet! No matter, I’ll still share with you the books I am dying to read.

1. Glass Sword (Red Queen #2) by Victoria Aveyard
Expected publication: February 9, 2016

Victoria Aveyard posted that we should be hella ready for this one. I am ready for the return of Mare. I am ready for Red and Silver. And most of all, I am ready for badass Maven.

2. A Court of Mist and Fury (A Court of Thorns and Roses #2) by Sarah J. Maas
Expected publication: May 3, 2016

A Court of Thorns and Roses was really good and ended with such potential. I’m dying to know what happens to Feyre and Tamlin!

3. Gemina (The Illuminae Files #2) by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff
Expected publication: Fall 2016

No cover or definite release date yet, but knowing just how epic Illuminae was, I’m not so worried about getting disappointed about Gemina. In fact, I am putting on my seatbelt and I am ready to conquer the galaxy with Kady and Ezra. ❤

4. Untitled (Firebird #3) by Claudia Gray
Expected publication: November 2016

This one also has no title, cover, definite publication on Goodreads but Claudia Gray did tweet that the third and final book of the Firebird series is out by November! From the amazing plot build up to the cliffhanger ending of Ten Thousand Skies Above You, I’m really looking forward to seeing how Claudia concludes with the last book.

5. Untitled (Falling Kingdoms #5) by Morgan Rhodes
Expected publication: 2016

No title, cover, and definite publication date?! Safe to say I’m getting really impatient for this one. Falling Kingdoms is hands down one of my favorite series to date! I’m expecting the last 2 books to make me cry, shout, and cry some more from its perfection.

  1. Lot of great books on that list. I can’t wait for Crooked Kingdom and Lady Midnight. Also looking forward to A Gathering of Storms by VE Schwab.
