Another day, another tag! Today, we’re doing the Mid Year Book Freak-Out Tag! Thank you very much, Audrey from Forwards and Bookwords for tagging us. Check out her blog if you haven’t already! It’s really spectacular.
On to the questions!
Best book you’ve read so far in 2015:
K:
The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh – This book induces the feels. I do not personally know anyone who hasn’t enjoyed this book. It’s THAT good. [Read my review here]
N:
Gathering Darkness (Falling Kingdoms #3) by Morgan Rhodes – Man, so much love for this book. So many ships, so little time.
Best sequel you’ve read in 2015:
K:
Gathering Darkness (Falling Kingdoms #3) by Morgan Rhodes – I had the worst book hangover after reading this. I can’t think of any other book to post as an answer for this question because this book stands out that much.
N:
Ten Thousand Skies Above You (Firebird #2) by Claudia Gray – I haven’t read it yet but I already know this will be the best sequel ever.
New release you haven’t read yet, but want to:
K:
Off the Page by Jodi Picoult and Samantha Van Leer – A book character coming to life?? THIS IS EVERY BOOK LOVER’S DREAM! William Herondale, where for art thou?
N:
Go Set A Watchman by Harper Lee – I am currently reading To Kill A Mockingbird and I’m so excited to read its sequel!!
Most anticipated release for the second half of the year:
K:
Ice Like Fire by Sara Raasch – I absolutely LOVED Snow Like Ashes, it was one of my most anticipated releases of 2014. It makes perfect sense that it’s sequel would be one of my most anticipated reads for 2015! Also, THERON! I need more of him. ASAP.
N:
Frozen Tides (Falling Kingdoms #4) by Morgan Rhodes – The way Gathering Darkness ended didn’t satisfy me. I need this now now now now.
Biggest disappointment:
K:
99 Days by Katie Cotugno – I HATE how badly I dislike this book! I honestly thought that I’d love it 😦
N:
Every Day by David Levithan – I had high expectations for this book… Sigh.
Biggest surprise:
K:
The Beginning of Everything by Robyn Schneider – Whereas Nikki hated this book, I really enjoyed it! I think that it’s a great coming-of-age book!
N:
Destroy Me (Shatter Me #1.5) by Tahereh Mafi – Who knew Warner had a beautiful soul dfjsdlfjafjjlelkslkdjf
Favorite new author:
K:
Morgan Rhodes – Fantasy is my favourite genre, and after reading the already-released books of her 2 series, I can honestly say that she’s made my list of favourite authors.
N:
Rosamund Hodge – Her retellings of classic fairy tales + her characters + her writing = perfection. She is now my go-to author for high fantasy books!
Newest Fictional Crush:
K:
Raffe from Angelfall – I can’t help but crush on him. We have the same sense of humour!
N:
Aaron Warner Anderson from the Shatter Me series – Correction, he will always be my fictional crush. Especially in Unravel Me and Ignite Me. Damn.
Newest Favorite Character:
K:
Lane from Extraordinary Means – He’s just so sweet. I want him to be my husband best friend.
N:
Seraphima from Off the Page – She’s so cute what the heck.
Book that made you cry:
K:
The Sky is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson – This book has such a great family element, and there was this one touching scene between the MC and her grandmother. It made my heart melt ❤
N:
The Catastrophic History of You and Me by Jess Rothenberg – I swear, it gets me every time.
Book that made you happy:
K:
P.S. I Still Love You by Jenny Han – Because #Coveynsky hehehehehe
N:
Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta – I recently reread this and it made me really really happy!
Favorite book to movie adaptation you saw this year:
K:
Insurgent by Veronica Roth – I really really enjoyed the movie, even though they kinda strayed from the book. Nonetheless, my heart was racing throughout most of the film!
N:
Love, Rosie by Cecelia Ahern – THIS BOOK AND THIS MOVIE AND THIS CAST. WHAT THE HECKSDFKSJDKFLJALSDFKJSDLFJSKLDJLKF
Favorite post that you’ve done this year:

I can’t wait to read The Wrath and the Dawn and Shatter Me! Actually, I haven’t read a single book on this list, but I’ve seen them enough times to note them as good books and quite a few are on my TBR.
