I think that everyone has a book that has changed them in one way or another. I decided to share some of the books that have influenced me here. Hope you all enjoy!
1. Percy Jackson and the Olympians series by Rick Riordan
Age Read: 11 years old
Prior to reading these books, I hated reading. I know, that’s a horrible thing to say, but that’s how I felt. I used to cry when I was forced to read. My parents would try to convince me, but it just wouldn’t work. One day in school, my classmates started reading these books. Not wanting to feel left out, I bought the first book and joined in. That was one of the best decisions of my life. These books made me realise that reading wasn’t a task. It made me realise that reading can be fun. Thanks, Rick Riordan.
2. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
Age Read: 11 years old
This book strengthened my love for reading. It’s the first book that I truly loved. (Also, it gave me my first book hipster moment. I read it before it was famous…. not that it matters)
3. Divergent by Veronica Roth
Age Read: 14 years old
“We believe in ordinary acts of bravery, in the courage that drives one person to stand up for another.”
This book made me want to be brave, just like Tris. It’s made me look at things differently, and I absolutely love it.
4. If I Stay by Gayle Forman
Age Read: 15 years old
This book showed me the importance of family and all the people around you. It taught me to value every moment in life because any moment can be your last one.
5. The Sky is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson
Age Read: 16 years old
This book taught me not to live in the shadow of someone else’s life. To be myself. And to love my family. It taught me to take charge.
6. The Bible
Age Read: I’m still reading it.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
I can’t not include this book. I wouldn’t be the person I am without the wisdom and guidance that this book has imparted to me.
So those are the books that have influenced me throughout my 17 years of living! What are yours? I’d love to know!

I love the idea of this! You should make it into a tag. It’s great that you have a series that really inspired you to read. I’m still waiting for a book I love so much, I wear it to bits rereading it, but I don’t think that happens in adulthood =/
