Taylor Swift Book Tag!

We’re kicking off our first blog post with a Taylor Swift theme! Is there a better option for a first post?

1. We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together

(pick a book or series that you were pretty sure you were in love with, but then wanted to break up with)

grisha trilogy

The Grisha Trilogy by Leigh Bardugo – The first two books were epic. The third one, however, was simply underwhelming. There is only one redeeming factor, and you’ll find out in a bit.

The Beginning of Everything by Robyn Schneider – Just like Tyra Banks’ ANTM outburst: We were rooting for you, Cassidy! We were all rooting for you!!!

2. Red

(pick a book with a RED cover)

statisticalThe Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight by Jennifer E. Smith – This book only has red accents, but I picked it because Hailee Steinfeld is goijng to star in the movie. HAILEE STEINFELD. Nuff said.

jellicoeJellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta – Kinda cheating this one… Can we call this blood-orange-red? But I’ve got to say this book is one of my favorites!

3. The Best Day

(pick a book that makes you feel nostalgic)

pjoPercy Jackson & the Olympians book series by Rick Riordan – I used to HATE reading, but after reading this series in grade 6, I fell in love. Thank you, Rick Riordan, you changed my life.

4I Am Number Four by Pittacus Lore – This was one of the first books I’ve ever read under the genre I’m currently interested in. I know it’s not that old but… to each their own!

4. Love Story

(pick a book with forbidden romance)

angelfallAngelfall by Susan EE – 2 snarky and sarcastic protagonists who BELONG together! Alas, one is a human and the other is an angel. Let the forbidden romance begin!

Hush Hush series by Becca Fitzpatrick – No words for this series. I fell madly in love (and I still am) with Patch. Fallen angel x human–what can be more forbidden than that?!

5. I Knew You Were Trouble

(pick a book with a bad character you couldn’t help but love)

grisha trilogy

The Grisha Trilogy by Leigh Bardugo – Dear John Darkling, I see it all know it was wrong, don’t you think nineteen’s sixteen’s too young to be played by your dark twisted games? When I loved you so, I should have known.

shatter emememeShatter Me series by Taherah Mafi – Warner. Warner. Warner. You will always have a special place in my heart. As Taylor Swift cleverly put it: he’s so bad but he does it so well.

6. Innocent

(pick a book that someone ruined the ending for)

The Fault in our Stars by John Green –  Nikki doesn’t know this, but she was the one who spoiled me. She was walking through the hallway in school,(sorta) crying and just blurted out who died just as she passed by me. THANKS NIKKI!!!! I forgive you (kinda).

red queen

7. Everything Has Changed

(pick a character from a book who goes through extensive character development)

skyThe Sky Is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson- It’s the kind of situation where the main character finds out that she is the author of her own life and it was soooooo beautiful. 6 out of five stars!

shatter emememeShatter Me series by Taherah Mafi – Juliette went from a whiney brat to a powerful symbol as the series progressed and wowowow.

8. You Belong With Me

(pick your most anticipated book release)

Winter by Marissa Meyer – Imagine Cinderella as a cyborg caught in the middle of an intergalactic struggle between Earth and the people from the moon. EPIC.

tenkTen Thousand Skies Above You by Claudia Gray – A Thousand Pieces of You was nowhere short of captivating and I can’t wait to read more of Paul Markov!

9. Forever and Always

(pick your favorite book couple)

The Legend Trilogy by Marie Lu – I cannot think of two other people who deserve each other as much as June and Day. They’ve been through too much. OTP. OTP. OTP.

a littleA Little Something Different by Sandy Hall – Lea and Gabe gave me the feels 10/10 times! Reminds me of how I act around my own crush (which we will NOT discuss!)

10. Come Back, Be Here

(pick the book you would least like to lend out, for fear of missing it too much)

to all the boys

To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han – My copy is signed and personalized. I will cut you if you try anything!

lroieLove, Rosie by Cecilia Ahern – *Drake voice* I love this album book more than I love myself!

11. Teardrops On My Guitar

(pick a book that made you cry a lot)

clowroClockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare – The author will take your heart and rip in into pieces and then you will feel her sow it back together and cut it in half again. Believe me when I say you want to feel that. And you will also want to meet Will Herondale.

tchoyamThe Catastrophic History of You and Me by Jess Rothenberg – The title is self-explanatory. I. Cried. Buckets.

12. Shake It Off

(pick a book that you love so much, you just shake off the haters)

The Legend Trilogy by Marie Lu – Nothing but praise for this series!! Everyone with eyebrows should read it. And if you don’t have eyebrows, you should still read it.

confessConfess by Colleen Hoover – As a self-proclaimed art hoe and aesthestics seeker, this book exceeded my standards by a milestone I don’t care what you say.
